Joanne Quinn

Joanne Quinn consults internationally in the field of leadership, staff development, instruction, assessment, and education reform for governments, foundations, agencies and districts in North America, Europe, Asia and Africa. She is currently engaged in sustained, large- scale change efforts with districts in Chicago, North Carolina, and Toronto. Joanne's previous roles as Superintendent, Director of Continuing Education at the University of Toronto, and Advisor on Education Reform to the Ontario Ministry of Education, have given her a unique perspective on the challenges facing educators and organizations today. She served as President of the National Staff Development Council and is currently a Faculty member of ASCD.

Joanne is passionate about education having spent a major part of her career as a teacher, Principal and Superintendent in the Halton District School Board serving 50,000 students near Toronto. Her areas of responsibility included leadership development, recruitment and promotion, staff development, School Growth Planning, research, evaluation and a family of schools. She was a founding member of The Learning Consortium, a partnership in school and system change with Dr. Michael Fullan and the University of Toronto.
