Building Toward a Collaborative Culture Focused on Accelerating Student Achievement This two-day program is designed to support the role of principals in how to build and support effective learning communities. Administrators are introduced to the Failure Is Not an Option® Six Principles and how they work together as a system to leverage existing professional development and school improvement resources. Administrators will explore how to build collective responsibility for student success and to identify their existing structures that can support a learning community. They will also incorporate their own professional experiences combined with the content from this workshop into a plan of action for their particular school. The Failure Is Not an Option® (FNO) Six Principles That Guide Student Achievement are: Common Mission, Vision, Values, and Goals Ensuring Achievement for All Students: Systems for Prevention and Intervention Collaborative Teaming Focused on Teaching and Learning Using Data to Guide Decision Making and Continuous Improvement Gaining Active Engagement from Family and Community Building Sustainable Leadership Capacity
Conducted by a HOPE Faculty consultant on-site in your district, the essential questions that guide this program include: How do our current beliefs and practices align with the FNO Six Principles? What is our role as leaders in the process of supporting high impact professional development focused on improved classroom instruction? How can we guide our learning communities toward self-governance? How can we build the commitment to change at our school sites?
