How the Failure Is Not an Option® (FNO) Six Principles Work as a System

The Failure Is Not an Option® Overview Workshop is designed as an interactive session whose key focus is introducing participants to the Failure Is Not an Option® Six Principles that guide student achievement in high performing schools. Based on the award-winning book, Failure Is Not an Option® by Alan Blankstein, participants have the opportunity to develop an in depth overview of the principles and create a plan for action, with the intention of building a sustainable learning community.

Structure:

  • 1/2 day (can be repeated) or full day, on-site Professional Development Session given by a HOPE Faculty member
  • Participants: Administrators and teachers who would like to learn more about establishing an effective School Improvement Plan and a sustainable, professional learning community
  • Failure Is Not an Option® resource materials (optional)

Outcomes

Participants will:

  • Consolidate their understanding of each of the Failure Is Not an Option® Six Principles and the actions that support them
  • Develop an understanding of how the FNO Six Principles work as a system to accelerate the learning of all students
  • Identify their current state and future focus
  • Develop action plans for beginning their work with the FNO Six Principles
