Kathy has been in education for over 20 years and works with administrators and teachers in groups of varying sizes from one-on-one to entire school districts. Her audiences and clients service kindergarten through high school students. She assists with strategic planning to determine school or district objectives, and presents and collaborates on designing standards-based differentiated curriculum; crafting essential understandings and guiding questions included in a backward design approach; using compelling instructional strategies that engage all learners; incorporating various effective pre-, formative, and summative assessments into curriculum; using six-trait writing instruction and assessment; creating unit or yearlong curriculum maps using state or common core standards; and more.
Kathy offers coaching to help teachers transfer what they learn from her workshops into effective classroom practice. Such opportunities can involve classroom demonstrations, observations, collaboration in curriculum design, and more depending upon clients’ needs.
