Scott Taylor

Scott Taylor is the principal of Crestwood Elementary School in the Lindbergh School District in St. Louis County, Missouri. Under Scott’s direction, Crestwood has made exceptional gains on state achievement tests. For five years in a row, Crestwood has been named to Missouri “Top 10” lists for high achievement.   Crestwood’s subgroup scores have also shown excellent growth and for four years in a row they have been the highest in St. Louis County. Crestwood’s subgroup scores are at rates two to four times higher than subgroup rates for the state of Missouri.  On Schooldigger.com, Crestwood’s student achievement for 2009-10is ranked #4 in Missouri out of over 1100 elementary schools. Crestwood has appeared on Schooldigger.com’s Top Ten list for three years in a row. In 2009, Crestwood was   named a Missouri “Gold Star School” Award, the highest honor given by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.  

Scott has presented workshops at the local, state and national level. He presented at the NAESP convention in 2006, 2007 and 2008. With the H.O.P.E. Foundation, Scott has presented in 17 states for thousands of educators.  His educational articles have been published locally and nationally as well. Scott is a past recipient of the “St. Louis Distinguished Principal of the Year Award” and was also a “Teacher of the Year” for the Fort Zumwalt School District. Scott has been a principal for the last twelve years. Scott received his Bachelor of Music Education degree from Chapman University, Orange, CA, his Masters in Educational Administration from University of Missouri-St. Louis and his Specialist Degree in Educational Administration from the University of Missouri-Columbia.  Scott and his wife, Becky, reside in St. Peters, MO. They are the parents of four children and proud grandparents of one grandson.
