Duration: 1 or 2 days
Location: On site
Funding: ARRA and Title I/II eligible

The Courageous Leaders Retreat (CLR) is a two-day program designed to engage principals and administrators with a focus on building and supporting effective learning communities. By utilizing the Six Principles of Failure Is Not an Option®, participants learn how to leverage existing school improvement resources to build a culture of trust and ultimately develop a plan of action for their individual school(s).

As a result of participating in the Courageous Leaders Retreat, participants will be able to:

  • Understand how the Failure Is Not an Option® Six Principles work as a system to improve student achievement and use this information to guide the development of strategic actions that will engage their faculty/staff in this work
  • Assess current state and identify the preferred future state in your school or district regarding professional structures and essential relationships among faculty/staff for collaborative learning
  • Apply learnings from the session to determine next steps and incorporate them into a Re-entry Plan to introduce this work to faculty/staff

With a Courageous Leaders Retreat, you receive:

  • A two-day on-site professional leadership development session
  • Participation among homogeneous or mixed groups of administrators and principals
  • Failure Is Not an Option® resource materials
  • Job-embedded activities and next-step action plans
